Synthetic
Extension Lines

Synthetic extension winch line from RimSling is a simple way to add more rope to your winch to reach whatever you are trying to recover. The extension includes a thimble to connect to your existing winch line, as well as a self-locking hook to connect to the casualty or other lashing point. Made from 12 strands of HDPE fiber, the single braid, kink-free synthetic line offers high strength and low stretch for long-term dependability.

RimSling’s synthetic extension rope carries the same properties as the standard synthetic winch line, including an oriented white stripe for twist identification. The rope is easy to handle and can be rolled up and stored when not in use. Besides adding more line to your winch, this extension is also a great way to test out synthetic winch line without changing the steel line already on your drum.

Single Torque-Free Braid

Our winch line features low-stretch properties and holds virtually no cord memory. Eliminating birdnesting on the spool, the abrasion-resistant rope simply falls limp when severed, reducing the risk for personal injury.

Size Options

RimSling Synthetic Winch Line is available in three diameters: 3/8" (9 mm), 7/16" (11 mm) and 1/2" (12 mm). Lengths range from 50' (15.2 m) to 150' (45.7 m). The Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) ranges from 17,600 lbs. (7,980 kg) to 30,600 lbs. (13,880 kg).

Self-Locking Hook

Each length of RimSling winch line features a self-locking hook that closes as soon as a load is applied to secure any recovery effort. Connected to a braided eye and metal thimble, the hook remains closed until manually released.

Lighter than Steel

Consisting of 12 strands of HDPE-coated fibers, our synthetic line is 1/7 the weight of steel wire rope. It's so light it floats. Reducing operator fatigue, the abrasion-resistant material is safer to handle as well, eliminating the chance for cuts and slivers from fraying lines.

About

RimSling is a rigging/recovery product that was a result of trying to figure out how to attach to an aluminum rim that has small holes without resorting to over-stressing a smaller rated round sling. After having tried different materials over the years, none worked as well or were as slim as the synthetic RimSling while still maintaining a higher working load limit. With safety as our #1 concern for our customers and RimSling users, all RimSling products are certified by DNV and ABS. We hope to continue to spread the word about RimSling to all towing professionals, making their rigging and recovery situations easier and safer for all!
