Synthetic Extension Lines

RimSling’s synthetic extension rope carries the same properties as its new synthetic winch line, including an oriented white stripe for twist identification. The rope is easy to handle and can be rolled up and stored when not in use. Besides adding more line to your winch, this extension is also a great way to test out synthetic winch line without changing the steel line already on your drum.
This extension is also lighter and safer to use than its steel counterpart. RimSling’s synthetic winch line weighs 1/7 of steel cable and is more flexible. The line is also light enough to float, making it ideal for water recoveries. Even if the strands are severed, the torque-free line will fall limp to the ground because it doesn’t store energy under tension, unlike steel cable. Synthetic line won’t fray, cause cuts and can be handled without gloves. The rope is also abrasion resistant and won’t scratch surfaces on the object being recovered.
Don’t be fooled by its low weight and flexibility. Synthetic extension line from RimSling is just as strong as steel winch line. The rope is available in three diameters—3/8”, 7/16” and 1/2"--and the Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) varies by size. The rust-free line can be washed with soap water. A clean line is important to the longevity of the line and keeps it functioning as it should under daily use.
